Set in their own field, our yurts offer stunning views across Bodmin moor. Look up at the night sky through the roof light, open the door to allow the moorland air in, or snuggle up around the wood burning stove.

Using a design that has served the nomadic tribes of Mongolia for centuries, our Yurts have been made by a local craftsman from timber grown on Bodmin Moor. These vaulted tents have an intricate lattice for walls and steam bent roof poles to give them their distinctive shape. Book your Yurt here.

We have four Yurts available for holidays and short breaks at South Penquite:

Goldilocks Yurt – sleeps 5 close friends or family

Daddy Bear Yurt – sleeps 5 close friends or family

Mummy Bear Yurt – sleeps up to 4 in comfort

Baby Bear Yurt – for cosy couples

Adapted for our climate, our yurts are covered with sail-grade canvas and mounted on wooden platforms. Inside there is plenty of room to stand and admire the simple beauty & elegance of the construction which will give you a camping experience like no other.

Our Yurts are fully equipped for that ‘back to nature’ experience, with all the home comforts you need. Each have there own wood burner with logs, kindling and firelighters provided. They all have a double bed and futons provide additional sleeping and seating areas. Cots are available upon request. You will also find a two ring gas cooker along with all the cooking equipment and utensils you may need. Hot showers and loos are free to use along with a communal fridge and freezer for ice pack exchange. We also provide lockers with electric points if needed. Each yurt has it’s own outdoor firepit and picnic bench. If you require extra firewood, this is available to purchase at reception.
